Protected Areas CoordinatorThe Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) of the Sharjah Government in the United Arab Emirates is currently recruiting for a suitably experienced and qualified Protected Areas Coordinator to join our team. This position will be based at the Sharjah Desert Park, a conservation and education facility managed by the EPAA, and will report to the Director General of EPAA. In line with the EPAA objectives, the role will involve the progression of the protected areas network plan through the development and implementation of management plans, base line surveys, mapping, the efficient management of resources, staff leadership and development of suitable conservation and research activities in Sharjah. The successful candidate should have an appropriate natural science qualification or equivalent, and a minimum of four years experience working in protected areas, in a managerial or support role. Botanist The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) of the Sharjah Government in the United Arab is currently recruiting for a suitably experienced and qualified Botanist to join our team. This position will be based at the Sharjah Desert Park, a conservation and education facility, managed by the EPAA and will report to the Operations Manager at the Breeding Centre for Endangered Arabian Wildlife (BCEAW). In line with the EPAA objectives, the role will involve implementing and coordinating base line surveys, vegetation and habitat mapping, the efficient management of resources, staff leadership and development of suitable conservation and research activities in Sharjah. The successful candidate should have an appropriate natural science qualification, an preferably in botany, a minimum of two years experience working in this field, in desert environments, and a valid driver’s licence.
